| 1 | Sleeping Giant State Park | New Year's Day Hike | 1:30 PM. Open to the public. All hikes leave from the bulletin board at the park entrance on Sunday afternoons ... except this one. It's a Wednesday. The entrance to Sleeping Giant Park is on the north side of Mt. Carmel Avenue in northern Hamden, about 0.5 mile east of Whitney Avenue. Hikers should wear comfortable, supportive shoes and bring snacks and water, as desired. No pets, please. |
